James D. Carr

Age 68, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Northeast, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Jim was born in Springfield, MA. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy and worked for the US Postal Service for several years before his retirement. He was recently predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Carr in April.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette (Blackwell) Carr; his daughters, Andrea Young and Christine Carr; and three grandchildren, Branda, Harley, and Axl. Also surviving are his sisters, Kathleen King and Margaret Mercante and her husband, Frank; and his brother, Thomas Carr and his wife, Ginny.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 28th at 11 AM at St. Matthew's Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Woodcrest, where visitation will begin after 10 AM. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
