Pastor Guy Brown Jr., of Smyrna, went to be with the LORD on Tuesday July 20, 2010. He was 85.
He was born in Renick, WV, and was a Navy veteran of
World War II.
He moved to Delaware in 1965, and was employed for 22 years with Kraft Foods, Dover.
He founded Full Gospel Church, near Clayton, in 1978, and served as the pastor until his retirement in 2008.
He will be remembered as a people-person, and as one who loved serving the LORD, his church, and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lura Mae Brown, and his son, Ralph Brown.
He is survived by three grandchildren, Rafe Beteylon, of Georgetown; Lura Mae Brown, of Chicago; and Jason Brown, of Dover; many extended family members, and his church family.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday July 26 at Full Gospel Church, 1119 Clayton-Delaney Rd., Clayton. Friends may call Sunday evening from 7-9:00 PM at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
