M. Emily (Emma) Baker of Denton Maryland died on July 14, 2010. She was 93 years old.
She was the daughter of the late Beniah L. Baker and Esther Poole Baker, formerly of Denton.
She was employed at the Denton Primary School for 23 years, following which she worked as a companion and domestic for friends. She was an active volunteer at the Samaritan House in Denton. She loved reading the Star Democrat and Readers Digest when they arrived.
She is survived by 2 nieces, Joyce Andrew of Denton and Catherine Saragino of Greenwood, and 5 nephews, Alan Baker of Columbia, MD, Rev. Earle N. Baker pastor of Avenue Methodist Church in Milford DE, DeWilliam (Bill) Moore, Louis Thomas (Tom) Moore, Daniel Lee (Danny) Moore all of Delaware.
She resided in the Gables Assisted Living Home since 2004 and was a lifelong member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Denton.
She was predeceased by her brothers Charles T. (Doc) Baker and James L. Baker and a sister, Virginia Moore.
Funeral services will be at Moore Funeral Home, P.A.,12 South 2nd Street, Denton, MD on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 1:00 pm with a visitation starting at noon.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Samaritan House, 12 North Fifth Ave., Denton, MD 21629 or to The Gables at Caroline, 701 Fifth Ave., Denton, MD 21629.
