Dash, Loretta Ann

LORETTA ANN DASH, was born on November 5, 1936 to the late Francis Paul and Fannie Tamburro in New York City, New York. She departed this life on February 16, 2010 at the Citizen's Care and Rehabilitation Center, Havre De Grace, Maryland.

Loretta received a Doctorate in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School Of Public Health in 1982, after receiving a Masters degree in Public Health also at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and an undergraduate degree from the University Of Maryland.

Loretta served in the MD Army National Guard for 20 years and was the first female full Colonel O6 in the history of the MD Army National Guard receiving this promotion in December 1990.

Loretta retired from the US Army Environmental Health Agency, where she worked as an Epidemiologist. She had also previously served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, and worked for the State Of Maryland.

Loretta leaves to cherish her memory: beloved children Joseph, Christopher, and Suzanne, beloved sister Claudia, beloved grand children Rachael, Timothy, Samuel, Joshua, and Evan, beloved niece Jacqueline, beloved nephew David, and beloved cousins Rose, Joseph, Gregory, and Gerard.

Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday February 19, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 615 Congress Ave., Havre de Grace, MD. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday February 18, 2010 at Lisa Scott Funeral Home, 552 Lewis Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 2, 2010 in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
