Christopher Brian Thornton of Denton, Maryland, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Delaware. He was eight years old.
Born in Easton, Maryland, on June 8, 2002, Chris was the son of Cheri and Brian Thornton of Denton.
Chris loved playing baseball, participating in Cub Scouts, swimming, riding his bike fast, fishing with his family, working in the shop, and giving his sister a hard time. Whether he was up to something or absolutely nothing, his smile would infect everyone around him.
In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by one sister, Clara Kate Thornton of Denton, MD; his paternal grandparents, Carl L. Thornton and his wife, Jillisa, of Easton, MD and Linda J. Fogg and her husband, Glenn, of Annapolis, MD; maternal grandmother, Ruth Ann B. Crouse of Denton, MD; paternal great-grandmother, Rachel Uber of Denton, MD; one aunt, Kimberly Miller and her husband, Christopher of Centreville, MD; great-uncles Raymond Berkner, Harry O. Sperling, Robert L. Uber, and Tom Thornton and his wife, Virginia; one great-aunt, Mary Anne Truscello; and cousins, Andrew and Davis Miller and Lillian and Matthew Thornton. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Daniel L. Crouse; his aunt, Amy Danielle Crouse; his paternal great-grandfather Lloyd T. Uber; and his paternal great-grandmother, Helen B. Thornton.
Funeral Services will be at 1 o'clock on Saturday, July 31st, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Fifth and Franklin Streets in Denton, where friends may call from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. on Saturday.
Interment will be in Denton Cemetery, Denton, Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for memorials to be made to the Philadelphia Shiners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140-4131.
