Betsy Mulrooney, 84, beloved wife, mother and grandmama, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, July 26, 2010; the feast of St. Ann.

Betsy was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Anna (Early) and William Byrne. She was a graduate of Immaculata University and retired from the Delaware Trust Company. Betsy was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and a former member of St. Mary Magdalen Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Anna O'Sullivan and Eileen Pickar.

Betsy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Tuck Mulrooney; her daughters and their husbands, Pamela MacPherson and Tom of Wilmington, Nina Mulrooney and Al Dorof of Philadelphia, PA, Claire Mott and Fred of Newark and Lisa Becker and Bert of West Chester, PA; her son, Byrne Mulrooney and his wife, Lisa of Charlotte, NC and her nine grandchildren, Meoghan, Michael and David MacPherson, Melanie and Kevin Mott, Bridget and Kelly Mulrooney and Rachel and Melissa Becker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10 AM at St. Ann Church, Gilpin Avenue and Union Street. Friends may call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Roads on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM. There will be no morning calling hours. Burial will be in St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery, Greenville.
